Big Blue Nation ranks No. 6 in FanSided’s Fandom 250, a ranking of fan bases from sports to entertainment.

Big Blue Nation is among the top fan bases in all of college sports. According to this year’s FanSided’s Fandom 250 the Wildcat fans come in at No. 6 among colleges and No. 80 overall. This is the same spot that Cats fans occupied last year.

Ranking ahead of Big Blue Nation this year are the fan bases of Oklahoma, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State. The Buckeye’s fans are ranked No. 1 overall, outranking Game of Thrones (2), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (3), Star Wars (4) and Conor McGregor (5).

If it’s any comfort for Wildcat fans, the Duke Blue Devils and the Cameron Crazies came in No.7. The Louisville Cardinals fan base ranked No.21 among college teams.

The Crimson Tide faithful were the only SEC fan base to outrank BBN. Alabama is a college football powerhouse and have been for years, so it’s no wonder their fan base outranks that of the Kentucky Wildcats.

The only debatable fan base in college who was ranked ahead of the Kentucky fans in Fandom 250 is North Carolina. Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State are known primarily as football universities. UNC is the only college fan base ahead of Kentucky who is branded as more of a basketball school.

It is undeniable that Big Blue Nation is one of the most passionate fan bases in all of college sports. If the Wildcats are able to raise banner No. 9 to the rafters of Rupp Arena and continue to improve upon their football program, look for BBN to rise up the rankings in next year’s Fandom 250.
