COLUMBIA, SC – SEPTEMBER 16: Defensive back Derrick Baity /

Bring Back the Defensive Dominance

Kentucky looked foolish on two separate touchdown plays against Florida. Take those two miscues away and the Wildcats would probably still be celebrating a victory over the Gators now. Despite those two plays, Kentucky’s defense looked great again.

Going up against a weaker opponent should be a nice confidence boost for the Cats’ defense. But the defense cannot take this game lightly. Eastern Michigan only averages 20 points per game, and that’s against weaker opponents. Kentucky needs to dominate the Eagles’ offense and build their confidence back up after an embarrassing showing against Florida (speaking of those two plays.)

Expect Kentucky to come out hungry in this game, especially defensively. The defense of the Wildcats has been ridiculed quite a bit for those two lapses in coverage. They need to prove themselves once again, and it shouldn’t be too hard with going against a weaker opponent.
