Win the Turnover Battle

This one may seem obvious, but it’s an absolute necessity when going up against a great defense like Florida has. Kentucky can’t be quick to force passes into places in which they’re not available. The Gators’ secondary is full of athletes and will feast on our mistakes if we allow them to.

So far, the Kentucky football team has a +4 turnover differential, which is already a large improvement from last season (-2). With that being said, they haven’t seen a defense like Florida’s.

Stephen Johnson showed his patience by not forcing too many passes into coverage against South Carolina, and he’ll have to do it again Saturday if Kentucky wants to pull the upset. The Wildcats can definitely force turnovers against a weak offense from Florida, but must avoid committing turnovers on the offensive side of the ball.
