 1. Stephen Johnson is the starter.

Stephen Johnson will enter the fall as the outright starter. This is very important for Kentucky to begin practice with a starter named. Although it doesn’t come as a surprise to find Johnson at the top of the depth chart, it will be interesting to see if he stays there.

Kentucky football fans understand that Johnson must get his opportunity. The man led the Wildcats to a 7-6 record and a birth in the TaxSlayer Bowl. Most notably, he led Kentucky past the Heisman Winner Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals. Johnson outplayed Jackson in their matchup in what was undoubtedly the most surprising win of the college football season.

Johnson has proven that he can win football games. With this season’s schedule tailored in Kentucky’s favor, Johnson has a great opportunity to turn the Kentucky Football program around and become an all-time fan favorite.
