Kentucky Football is working to get the commitment from the nation’s top athlete.

The 2018 recruiting cycle for the Kentucky Football program has the opportunity to be one of the best ever. Some of Kentucky’s top targets in 2018 are choosing the Cats over schools like Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Penn state. This phenomenon is becoming seemingly frequent.

Although the Wildcats have 14 verbal commitments, they’re seeking one more, in  particular, from the most talented athlete in the nation — L’Christian “Blue” Smith.

Can Kentucky really pull a top recruit out of the hands of Urban Meyer?

The answer is “yes”. The Kentucky faithful has seen Mark Stoops and his staff’s resilience over their 5 year tenure. In fact, Kentucky has won over coaches like Nick Saban, Mark Richt, Les Miles, and Jim McElwain.

But just how hard will it be to go into Ohio State’s backyard and get a commitment from the best player in Ohio? I think the staff at Kentucky is facing a tremendous challenge here. Even though the challenge is achievable.
