Xavier Peters becomes the 15th member in the 2017 Kentucky football recruiting class.

Kentucky Football gets another big recruiting win in four-star linebacker, Xavier Peters. Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow strike again in the Buckeye State.

Xavier Peters is ranked as the 246th overall player in America. He’s also a top-20 linebacker and the No. 8 player in Ohio per 247sports. Peters holds offers from Alabama, Louisiana State University, Penn State, Oregon, Tennessee among others.

He announced his decision via Twitter in an Independence Day gift to the BBN. Peters’ friend, and current Kentucky commit Jarren Williams just wrapped up their stint as teammates at Nike’s The Opening. The event housed the nations top prospects in combine activities including a 7-on-7 event.

Take a look at what Kentucky will be getting:

The Ohio to Kentucky pipeline

Peters is a substantial addition to the 2018 Kentucky Football Commits. Furthermore, his commitment intensifies and strengthens the Cats’ most notable pipeline. The go-to recruiting hot bed is without argument, Ohio.

Through five years on the recruiting trail, the ties between Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow to the state of Ohio has proved to be phenomenal. Moreover, that relationship is the biggest reason Kentucky has started to see success in recruiting and on the field.

Despite the loss of four linebackers since the 2016 season, Kentucky remains solid at the position. With players like Jordan Jones, Denzil Ware, Josh Ali, and Eli Brown, the depth and talent at linebacker is in amazing shape.

What the Xavier Peters commitment means for Kentucky

Xavier Peters is a monster, period. On the field, he possesses the skills necessary to strap up at any program nationwide. Additionally, he is one of those guys that comes into the weight room, and people would ask “how’s your senior year going?” He possesses an extremely large frame and a dominating physique.

Peters weighs in at a whopping 230 lbs and is 6-foot-4 from head to toe. Another asset that will benefit Peters (and Kentucky) is his wingspan. The Ohio product is very lengthy. His long arms and athleticism will create the formula used for distinguished tacklers in the SEC.

With a monstrous build, quickness off of the ball, and coverage/run-stopping ability — Xavier Peters is your prototypical SEC linebacker who will be an immediate impact for the Wildcats.

All things considered, the commitment of the highly touted linebacker pushes Kentucky’s recruiting class inside the top 15 in the nation with the commitment of Peters, and 4th in the SEC.
