Louie Dampier is on of the premier players in Kentucky Basketball history. He played for Adolph Rupp from 1964-1967. Dampier averaged nearly 20 points per game in his three year Kentucky career. The Indiana native scored 1,575 points in his career at Kentucky. Dampier averaged 17 points in the 1964-1967 season. The next year, he led his team in scoring with 21.1 points per game. Following his junior season, Dampier average 20.7 points for Adolph Rupp’s Kentucky Wildcats.

In 1966, Adolph Rupp’s Cats would win their way to the National Championship game agains the Texas Western Minors. (Now UTEP). The famous season by the Texas Western team was adapted into the movie Glory Road.
