Alex Groza is a historical name in Kentucky Basketball lore. His name hangs in the rafters at Rupp Arena. He spent time in the military after being drafted part of the way throughout his first season at Kentucky. Groza is among many former military members on this list. He played for the legendary Adolph Rupp. His teams won two consecutive National Titles in 1948 and 1949. As a constant staple in the All-SEC teams throughout his career his position on the list of Kentucky’s all time greats will forever be saved.
