Melvin Turpin reigns from Bryan Station high school in Lexington Kentucky. He was a  6-foot-11 center who was key to the success of the early 80s Kentucky Wildcats. Turpin was an All-American on two occasions. He led the 1984 Kentucky team with 15.2 points per game. That team would go on to reach the Final Four. He averaged 12.3 points per game in his career and nearly six rebounds. Turpin was a part of one Final Four team in his career at Kentucky. He played for Coach Joe B. Hall.
