Joe Crawford

Rondo’s commitment mate, Joe Crawford is still one of my favorite players to this day. Joe gave four excellent years to the program and was very enjoyable to watch play the game. The athletic two-guard out of Detroit Renaissance High School, which also included fellow 5-star classmate, Malik Hariston was a HUGE get in the class. Tubby battled hard to get both of the Renaissance guards to dual commit to the Cats, but ultimately Hairston ended up at Oregon.

Joe would go on to score 1,438 career points for the Blue and White, averaging double figures in three of his four seasons. He and Ramel would each have an emotional send off in the 2008 NCAA tournament as Kentucky fell to Marquette in Round 1 (Thanks, Billy G). Joe scored a team high 35 points in the game, good for 7th all-time in terms of single game points scored in an NCAA tournament game. He would go on to be drafted 58th overall in the 2nd Round of the 2008 NBA Draft.
