Former Louisville wide receiver commit Akeem Hayes has flipped his pledge to Kentucky football via Twitter.

Akeem Hayes is rated a 3 star wide receiver by all major recruiting networking services. Hayes attends Chaminade-Madonna High School in Hollywood, Florida. The high school is becoming quite the pipeline for Kentucky football.

From Chaminade-Madonna To Kentucky

Hayes makes the seventh commit from Chaminade-Madonna dating back to the 2016 recruiting class. Kentucky’s presence in the south Florida region has greatly improved.

Having 10 players from south Florida commit to Kentucky football is ridiculously good.  Stoops and staff have accomplished this in the last two years alone. Which is even more ridiculous. With the flip of Hayes from Louisville to Kentucky, the win seems so much sweeter.

Heres a stat for you. From 2006 to 2011, Kentucky managed to pull just FIVE PLAYERS from the south Florida area.

Stoops has gotten TEN south Flordians in just two years. It’s not only the number of players that have increased from the region though, it’s the caliber. These athletes are bigger, faster, stronger, and athletically more dominant than any recruits Kentucky had signed pre-Stoops.

Eddie Gran, Lamar Thomas, and Steve Clinkscale are putting in WORK, and it’s paying off. Mark Stoops has made the right hires so far. All three of these individuals have proven to be great recruiters.

Leading up to the commitment of Akeem Hayes

Hayes was a “hard” commit to Louisville before he attended the first Kentucky football camp less than two weeks ago. Now? He’s a future Wildcat. YAHTZEE!

Hayes put out this poll via Twitter:

At this time, he was still a hard commit to Lousiville, but after the results came in, we saw an upward interest in Kentucky.

After the camp, Hayes started receiving heavy of praise from the Big Blue Nation. He tweeted several times to be what looked like a mutual interest in Kentucky.

The flip to Kentucky then began to be anticipated by the ones who have been closely eyeing his recruitment. Some were unsure, but he was definitely showing love to the Big Blue Nation.

Friendly pressure from current Chaminade-Madonna  teammates and Kentucky football commits Marvin Alexander Jrand Davoan Hawkins probably assisted in the three-star wide receiver’s decision to flip his commitment.

What Hayes commitment does for Kentucky:

Hayes is a 5-foot-10, 180 pound wide receiver with great hands, speed, and elusiveness. He will add a great amount of depth to the already talented and deep wideout position at Kentucky.

Hayes, Hawkins, and Alexander Jr. will join former Chaminade-Madonna teammates Clevan Thomas, Joshua Ali, and Chris Whittaker at the start of the 2018 season.

Hayes’ commitment puts Kentucky’s 2018 recruiting class at 18th in the nation per 247Sports.

From L’s up to L’s down “REAL QUICK” as the pipeline from Chaminade-Madonna to Kentucky strengthens.
