5. Mike Hartline (2007-2010)

Mike Hartline played at Kentucky from 2007 to 2010. Hartline played behind Kentucky Football quarterback Andre Woodson in his freshman season. As his backup, Hartline only completed just four passes in his six attempts. Mike Hartline was thrusted into the starting role in his sophomore season. In 2008, Mike Hartline threw for nearly 1,700 yards and nine touchdowns. Kentucky, at the time, was also graced with the talent of Randal Cobb who also spent time at the quarterback position. The 2008 Kentucky team under Rich Brooks earned a birth in the Liberty Bowl where they defeated East Carolina. Hartline’s junior season was also made up of shared snaps with Morgan Newton. Even though he wasn’t the consistent starter, Hartline, still threw for six touchdowns and 802 yards.

The season that puts Hartline on this list is his senior season. He won the position outright and led a Joker Phillips team to the BBVA Compass Bowl. In 2010, Mike Hartline threw for 3,178 yards and 23 touchdowns with nine interceptions. Hartline led the SEC in completions in his senior campaign.

For his career, Mike Hartline threw for 5,680 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also adds one rushing touchdown to his resume as well. Hartline didn’t have the huge numbers to climb this list, but he had talent around him and he was a gritty player who could win football games.
