Bol Bol, the son of former NBA player Manute Bol is a hot commodity on the EYBL ranks. John Calipari and the Kentucky Basketball staff are all over this kid.

John Calipari offered Bol Bol back on May 1. The son of the late Manute Bol is becoming a rising star in the AAU ranks. Bol is already 7-foot-2 and could possibly get even taller. His father was 7-foot-6. Kentucky Basketball looks to be in pretty good shape with this kid as the 247Sports Crystal Ball has the Wildcats in the lead with 75 percent of the voters.

The Scouting Report

Reality says that if a kid is 7-foot-2 and still growing, he’s probably clumsy and non-athletic. That’s definitely not the case for this big man. Bol is insanely athletic for his body type. And y’all, he can pull up from behind the arc as well. Also, his presence in the paint is enough to strike fear into the eyes of just about any guard driving the lane.

Bol Bol attends Mater Dei in California. He’s currently ranked as the 15th best prospect in the country and has Kentucky at the top of his list. Arizona as well as Kansas also look to be contenders. One of his best friends, Shareef O’neal, son of Shaquille O’neal is committed to the west coast Wildcats of Arizona. They look to be a factor in the Bol recruitment as well. John Calipari is working to finish the recruiting class of 2017 and get everything squared away while at the same time scouting new talent.

Although Bol isn’t the type of player Calipari usually guns for, it would be wise to do what they can to reel him into Lexington. Kentucky hasn’t had this type of player for quite some time. The highlights speak for themselves. Watching this kid pull up from three and hitting straight cash is a sight all on its own.
