Age is just a number

Basketball is a game of numbers. Points, rebounds, assists, percentages are all aspects of the game. Age is also a number. The 2017-18 Kentucky Basketball team will be one of the youngest teams in the country. Nearly the entire team will be made up of Freshman and Sophomores. With only two sophomores expected to see significant time, the majority of production will have to come from 18 and 19 year old kids.

In order for these kids to make some noise come March, there needs to be a level of maturity that overtakes their game. Nobody knows how they will play together. They are all unproven in the college game. They could very well not be successful at the this level right away. Additionally, they may be overwhelmed by the high expectations bestowed upon them by the Big Blue Nation.

But, there is always hope in Coach Calipari and his methods of teaching. Kentucky Fans should rejoice in the success of our fearless leader and get ready to watch something special.
