Duke Blue Devils (ACC)

Likewise with Kansas and North Carolina, Duke would be a great fit in the SEC. A huge television market would make for an improved television rating for all college basketball games. Coach K and the Duke Blue Devil basketball program is one of the perennial powerhouses of college hoops. Adding them into the conference would mean that Kentucky would get to showcase it’s talents against the best of the best. One could argue that one of John Calipari’s top recruiting competition is definitely Duke. With the Blue Devils on the Schedule for a home and home every single season would mean huge dividends in the purse of the Kentucky Athletic program.

Duke is one of Kentucky’s oldest rivalries. Wouldn’t it be nice to resurrect some of the great Kentucky/Duke matchups ever? With the inclusion of them playing in a mid season matchup every single season, that’s a possibility.

Duke Football is Comparable to Kentucky

On the football side of things, Duke would match up well with some of the SEC east schools. They could be competitive in the conference once they get established. Kentucky football would get to play a team that has made its name in the tough ACC football conference. Yet, Kentucky would be in a great competition to compete at a great level against the Blue Devils. As the two are very comparably programs, essentially, having Duke on the schedule would make for comfort and confidence in win opportunities.
