“King” Rex Chapman was an elusive scorer for the Kentucky Basketball team. Rex played at Kentucky for two seasons. The 1986-87 season Chapman averaged 16 points per contest while in the 1987-88 season, Rex put in 19 points per game.

Chapman is a native Kentuckian. The only player from Kentucky on this countdown deserves his respect as one of the best. Chapman graduated from Apollo High School in Owensboro, Kentucky. In his two seasons under Coach Eddie Sutton, Chapman led the team in scoring.

The 6-foot-4 guard would test the NBA Waters after his sophomore season. Chapman would be drafted in the first round with the eighth overall pick to the Charlotte Hornets.

While in the NBA Chapman turned in 12 impressive seasons. A career average of 14.6 points per game is nothing to slouch about. Chapman spent his 12 seasons with the Hornets, Miami Heat, Washington Bullets, and ended his career in Phoenix with the Suns.
