Tyler Ulis is making Kentucky Basketball fans proud

Former Kentucky Basketball point guard Tyler Ulis has made a run in the league lately.

Since the All-Star break, Ulis has been a regular in the Phoenix Suns rotation, and has not played less than 34 minutes since March 15. Clearly it is paying off for the rookie; he nearly got his first triple double earlier this week against the Houston Rockets.

Ulis continues to have impressive outings, but nothing sums it up quite like this:

Got ’em! Yes, Ulis just left Stephen Curry shook on a crossover followed by a smooth jumper. It’s literally the best case scenario for Kentucky Basketball fans who dreamed of Ulis playing at an NBA level. Not only is he sticking around, he’s really leaving his mark on games.

Poythress gets a shot in Philly

Let’s stay with the 2015-2016 Kentucky team for a moment. Alex Poythress recently signed with the Philadelphia 76’ers, and kicked things off with 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists in his debut. But most importantly, he crammed on dudes:

“POY, HE BOUT TO DO IT.” Incredible. A+, PR team.

Poythress on the 76’ers is a very welcome addition to my NBA life. They have a pretty good social media team, and I need more tweets like this. S/o to Poythress for making the most of his shot in the NBA. Hopefully he shows enough to start next season on a roster as well.

John Wall is straight trolling Ron Baker

Washington Wizards point guard John Wall may have made this column more than any other former Kentucky star by now.

In the past, he’s showed off his dunk contest jams, made assists look like ballet, and nailed Marcin Gortat in the face. Nothing will ever quite top destroying Gortat, but hey, he’s giving it his best shot.

Check out this week’s candidate for Best Unnecessary and Awesome Play:

My favorite thing about this highlight is that literally nothing is accomplished. No points are scored, no passed are made, no rebounds are scooped up. Wall is captivating us just by dribbling around Ron Baker, or this guy, if you need a reminder.

Incredible. In my book, that’s a sign of a good basketball player. I’m so in on this play and there really is no discernible result here. Baker doesn’t fall over or anything, he even stays in front of Wall.

Wall is so good at dribbling that we are happy to watch him do that and nothing else. That’s worth celebrating, folks.
