Former Kentucky Basketball star Trey Lyles may not have made a video with some puppies on the court, but well, you check it out anyway.

Shout out to hashtags. I’m pretty sure 90 percent of National “unusual subject” Days are born out of someone’s made-up hashtag. Enter former Kentucky Basketball star Trey Lyles and #NationalPuppyDay.

Listen, this is supposed to be a highlights column. That’s a fact. I won’t deny that. But Lyles never got the love he deserved at Kentucky. He played with so many future NBA players that it’s reasonable, I suppose. But if #NationalPuppyDay is what it takes to get Lyles in “He Did What?!,” consider me #blessed.

The Fire and Ice pick-and-roll is here

The pick-and-roll is a thing of beauty. One guard holds the ball, a big man screens, then the magic happens. Depending on how the defense reacts, the guard can drive to the basket, or dump the ball of the the screening big man.

The funny thing about this pick-and-roll is it involves two of the best big men in the league. The Pelicans cut the guard out of the equation because this play is so difficult to guard this when a big man like Cousins can run it.

My favorite part of this play is poor Marc Gasol standing in disbelief after Anthony Davis finishes the alley oop. Marc dazed, confused, shook. It’s wonderful. Gasol is neck-and-neck with the two Pelicans big men in their position’s league rankings, and even he is puzzled how the Pelicans set this up.

Oh, about those passing big men..

Don’t forget about Karl-Anthony Towns. His passing ability is one of my favorite parts of his game, and it’s flourished in the league. Here he hits Brandon Rush for a three, and I’ll admit, he’s already guessing what the tweet will say with his highlight:

Towns seems so happy to be throwing this pass. Here is the latest scene in “FOH, a play starring Karl-Anthony Towns.

Enter Karl-Anthony Towns. He sees DeMarcus Cousins ahead of him, and decides not to end a fellow Wildcat’s life.
