Ranking The 10 Best Kentucky Football Players in the NFL
Larry Warford played in Lexington from 2009-2012. Warford hails from Madison Central High School in Richmond Kentucky. As a Wildcats, Warford started for three seasons at right guard. As the offensive line anchor, Warford was named to the Third Team AP All-American team as a senior. During his senior season campaign, Warford’s spot at right guard never surrendered a sack.
Warford’s professional career began as he was drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lion. Warford would win the starting right guard spot as a rookie out of training camp. The Richmond native went on to play for three seasons protecting Matthew Stafford before being signed by the New Orleans Saints on March 10, 2017.
The reported deal was for $34 million for a four year contract. Now in 2017, Warford will hope to help Drew Brees stay on his feet as the prolific passer that he is.
