Tyler Ulis steals a win for the Phoenix Suns, and it looks even better with Titanic music.

Tyler Ulis is not supposed to be here. He is listed at 5′ 10″, 150 pounds. He was selected in the second round despite being a contender for National Player of the Year in college. By all accounts,  Ulis was too small to play with the men in the NBA.

Cue the Titanic music:

Ulis may have won this game on a lucky shot, but make no mistake, he has been showing up for the Phoenix Suns lately.

Over the last two weeks, the Suns rookie has had more opportunity to see the floor, averaging 19.9 minutes per game through the last eight played. During Sunday’s win against Boston, Ulis set career highs with 20 points and 33 minutes played.

Unfortunately, there are too many Wildcats on the Suns for this not to negatively affect another. The Ulis hot-streak has come as Brandon Knight has been phased out of the Suns rotation, playing zero minutes over the same stretch. Knight had been averaging a career-low 11 points per game before being benched, and his unfavorable contract handcuffed the Suns from trading him at the deadline.

The team has decided to set its sights on the future, and Ulis is clearly a part of the vision. That is exciting for Kentucky fans, as he was a favorite during his stint in the Bluegrass. Be sure to keep an eye on him through the last 18 games.

And now, “FOH, a play starring Karl-Anthony Towns”

I could tell you how Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves have improved. But I’ll read you the opening scene to “FOH, a play starring Karl Anthony-Towns” instead.

ACT 1, SCENE 1:

Enter Karl-Anthony Towns. He is tall and stoic, waltzing into the paint and deflecting defenders like flies.

AUSTIN RIVERS: (Bumping forearms.) You ain’t gettin’ to the rim, Karl, not on me!

KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS: FOH, AUSTIN.

Austin Rivers flies off of Towns’ body.

DEANDRE JORDAN: You can punk the coach’s son, but not me, rook!

TOWNS: I AINT NO ROOK, YOU’RE IN MY WAY, RUN NOW WHILE YOU CAN.

Towns scores. DeAndre Jordan immediately regrets his decision.

TOWNS: FOH. FOH. FOH. NOBODY CAN STOP ME. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

I love Karl-Anthony Towns.

Willie Cauley-Stein missed a dunk so beautifully

The Stifle Tower is Rudy Gobert, if you don’t know. He is called that because he is tall like a tower and is a stifling defender. Stifle rhymes with Eiffel, like the Eiffel Tower, and Gobert was born in France, where that particular monument is located.

Great nickname, right?

Trillie Cauley-Stein does not care about your great nickname:

Am I alive? Is Rudy Gobert alive? Are we okay? Is that legal?

The Kings did lose this game in overtime on a last second Gobert put-back, but honestly, this play will be what everyone will remember.

This play is one of many signs of encouragement for the Kings. It is so great to see Cauley-Stein have the chance to spread his wings. I only wish there was a terrible Kings pun here to make fun of.
