"I need acknowledgement, if I got it then tell me I got it then / I’m ballin’ out of control, keep on receiving the scholarships"

Jan. 11: Kentucky adds red-shirt freshman Hamidou Diallo

Maybe that 87-81 win at Vanderbilt was a little too close for Coach Calipari? It was only one day later that he signed the 11th ranked prospect in the Class of 2017.

Hamidou Diallo’s scholarship came at a unique time. By signing on January 11, Diallo was able to enroll in the 2017 Spring semester and join the team immediately. This presented a conundrum for fans. Should the Wildcats start playing the young player in the thick of conference play, or hold him back in hopes that he returns next year to play a full season?

Well, Calipari shot that down right away, saying his son Brad Calipari would replace De’Aron Fox this season before Diallo enters a game. ‘Earned not given‘ at its finest.

“Scholarships” is the only Drake song to choose here, plain and simple. It’s all about balling out and accepting scholarships to ball out some more, for goodness sake. BBN even got a classic line about rockin’ Kentucky blue on a word I’d rather not mention.

When “Scholarships” came out, I thought, “Alright. Drake is part of the family now.” So it’s only natural to think the same when Diallo joins the squad too.
