Kentucky Adds to the Defensive Line Depth Through 2017 Recruiting Class

One of Kentucky’s biggest weakness as a team last season was it’s depth and play on the defensive front four. Returning starters, Naquez Pringle, and Adrian Middleton look to be the key defenders up front. Also, rising Sophomore TJ Carter came on towards the conclusion of 2016 as a contributor at the defensive end slot. He will rotate with Alvonte Bell as the edge rushers.

Also, included in the mix should be Joshua Paschal. The Maryland native is one of the top commitments of the Mark Stoops era. At 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, the four star recruit is ranked as the 11th best defensive end in the 2017 class. As added depth, Pashcal provides a different level of athleticism coming off of the edge. Paschal will not join the Wildcats until this summer as he finishes up his senior year at Good Counsel.

Pashcal has the frame to also add weight and move inside as a traditional three-technique. Paschal is one to watch during spring practice. Check out this video of Pashcal at his high school Student/Staff basketball game.
