The Deep Ball

Garrett Johnson served as a deep ball threat for Stephen Johnson. Along with fellow wide receiver, Jeff Badet, Johnson led the receiving attack from the outside. Johnson finished the season with a total of five touchdowns, which is fourth on the team. The Florida native finished the season as Kentucky’s leading receiver in terms of receptions with 39 catches.

Johnson is set to enter his Senior season as the leader of this Wide Receiver Corps. After the transfer announcement of Jeff Badet, all eyes point to Garrett Johnson as the go-to guy for Stephen Johnson.

Johnson’s biggest game of 2016 came agains rival Louisville in the Battle for The Governor’s Cup. In the matchup against Heisman Trophy Winner, Lamar Jackson, the Kentucky Receiver finished with five catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns. The Cats went on to win the game after a late Cardinal turnover after Austin MacGinnis drilled a 47-yard field goal.
