The Youth Movement

Mike Edwards just finished up his sophomore season in Lexington. The Cincinnati, Ohio native has produced tremendously for Mark Stoops’ defense. In 2016, Edwards finished with 100 total tackle.  His 56 solo tackles ranked as the fifth most in the SEC in 2016.

Edwards recorded double digit tackles in four contests this past season. That includes a game high 13 tackles in a losing effort to Georgia on November 5, 2016.

Edwards also picked off three balls in 2016 which led the Wildcats’ defense. His three interceptions ranked as the fourth best total in the conference. Edwards’ performance on the field earned him All-SEC Second Team honors along with fellow defender Jordan Jones. Jones will be making an appearance on this list down the road.
