Halftime

At the half, we have to sit here and listen to the analysts talk about Kentucky’s weaknesses. Lack of experience, turnovers, foul trouble, bench depth…it’s the same old thing every time. Quite frankly, fans are tired of hearing about how this team of freshman have to find a way to mature. There is also an underlying hate for John Calipari all over the world of college basketball.

When the Cats are up big at halftime, the second half seems to come and go fairly quick. This is pretty easy on fans that would choose to scroll through Facebook looking for the newest cool meme, or to see the next installment of Southern Mama.

When Kentucky is in a dog fight at the half, it’s always what the Wildcats did wrong. It’s never the fact that Joe Shmoe for the Southeastern University of College Tech is shooting 7-7 from three with a career high 32 points in the first half. Usually, the same guy is averaging 6.5 points on the season but has an out of body performance keeping their team in the game.

This upsets Big Blue. The fact that when Kentucky comes to town, the arena is sold out and fans come out in droves, makes us feel special. It’s not like two days ago during a conference game when there were 7,000 empty seats.
