2. Motor

If any word should be valued in college basketball or NBA Draft circles, it’s motor. That term can be thrown around rather loosely, but to those whom it applies, it’s an invaluable strength—a strength that Wenyen Gabriel possesses.

Per Metz Camfield of CoachCal.com, Gabriel knows that his energy and motor are the reason he’s achieved the success he has thus far.

"“My high motor is what they speak about, my length, my athleticism,” Gabriel said. “Just being able to keep going all the time.”"

That motor is complemented by a tremendous work ethic.

"“That’s, obviously, one of the things I really love about basketball,” Gabriel said. “Every day I leave and I know that I got better. That’s what I really like about Kentucky."

That’s reminiscent of another high-profile Kentucky freshman: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Gabriel has the size, strength, length, and athleticism to be a factor on both ends of the floor. In order to put those physical gifts to their proper use, however, a player must be willing to put the work in.

On the game court, practice court, and in the gym, Gabriel is willing to do what’s necessary to succeed.

As a member of the Kentucky basketball program, Gabriel has something to prove. He isn’t shying away from the responsibility.

If nothing else endears him to you, then his effort and energy should.
