Kentucky Basketball: Five Reasons Isaiah Briscoe Will Shine
1. An Offseason With Perspective
As previously alluded to, Isaiah Briscoe has the invaluable advantage of gained experience. Beyond his ability to excel as a leader and semi-veteran, however, is the benefit of knowing what didn’t work for him.
Briscoe may have struggled to shoot as a freshman, but he’s going through an offseason with the knowledge of what his No. 1 weakness is.
Briscoe is one skill away from achieving college basketball stardom. He’s already a plus defender, gifted ball-handler, and talented playmaker with genuinely elite defensive potential.
By merely becoming an acceptable 3-point and free throw shooter, he’d eliminate the only truly glaring weaknesses in his game.
Having gone through a full season, as well as NBA Draft workouts, Briscoe knows what he needs to do. If his work ethic is as powerful as it’s said to be, he should come back as a much better shooter in 2016-17.
That alone is reason to believe that he can be successful in 2016-17.
