4. Experience

It’s a sad state of affairs in college basketball when a sophomore is considered a veteran. It’s also a reality that, with two seasons in college, gifted players can turn talent into something truly special.

Entering what’s going to be a sophomore season with far less pressure than he faced as a freshman, Isaiah Briscoe now has the platform for true success.

At every stage of their career, players are met with adversity that must be triumphed. For Briscoe, that was having to watch as fellow Kentucky guards Jamal Murray and Tyler Ulis get drafted this past June.

That can either serve as a motivating moment or a reason for frustration. The hope is that Briscoe will use it as the latter.

Furthermore, Briscoe helped the Wildcats go 27-9 and reach the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament in 2015-16. Unfortunately, this is Kentucky basketball, and bowing out in the Round of 32 isn’t an acceptable result.

With a year of experience under his belt, Briscoe should come back with a hunger in his belly and the talent to be SEC Player of the Year.
