Offensive Versatility

In the present day, Bam Adebayo is an offensive powerhouse who can play above the rim and bully opponents down low. What he’s developing into, however, is a versatile and complete offensive player.

Whether he’s handling the ball in transition, playing from the post, shooting from 16-to-22 feet, or crashing the offensive glass, Adebayo does it all offensively.

When Adebayo pulls down a defensive rebound, he has no trouble turning up court and running the fast break as the primary ball-handler. He has advanced handles for a freshman big man, isn’t afraid of contact, and can stop on a dime to back his man down in the post.

Adebayo is essentially a taller version of another former Kentucky Wildcats standout: Julius Randle.

Adebayo’s go-to move right now is a spin move towards the baseline that he turns into a two-handed power flush. He has strong footwork, however, and is in the process of polishing off his finishing ability.

Adebayo needs to be more willing to pass out of double teams, but he’s already shown star potential as a transition playmaker and all-around scoring threat.
