47. Darius Miller

Kentucky fans of all ages know who Darius Miller is. Not only was he a vital part of the 2012 National Championship, he’s also a homegrown kid with a heart of gold.

The 2008 Mr. Kentucky Basketball, Miller is one of the only players I know of to have a high school state championship (Mason County High School, Maysville, Kentucky), NCAA National Championship and a Pro Championship.

"Miller had 12 points and two assists in Brose Baskets’ 88-84 win over Bayern Munich in the deciding Game 5 of the finals of the Beko BBL , the top basketball league in Germany. Miller was 3-for-4 from three-point range. Miller, Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball in 2008, averaged 12.4 points and 3.4 assists per game in the finals. He scored 21 points, tied for his season high, in Game 4. Miller had shot well from three-point range ever since he joined the team, and the championship series was no exception. He was 13-for-23 (56.5 percent) in the finals and 33-for-64 overall (51.6 percent). Miller previously spent parts of three NBA seasons with New Orleans. He averaged 3.1 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 102 games from 2012 to 2014."

It’s always a weakness for Kentucky fans to love their homegrown kids a little more than the others. Miller is no different, he will always be a player that Wildcat fans of all ages will look back on and smile.

Random fact: Miller is third in total games played in DI Men’s Basketball, and leads (well, tied) among those who played exactly four seasons of college basketball.
