30. Johnny Cox
Johnny Cox was a member of the “Fiddlin’ Five” under Adolph Rupp. He was one of the best rebounders to ever put on a basketball jersey with his 6-4 stature.
Cox ended his career with the Wildcats with 1,461 total points and 1,004 rebounds, making him one of only four Wildcats at that time to reach the 1,000 mark in both those aspects. Joining Dan Issel, Frank Ramsey and Cliff Hagan, not a bad group to be with.
Cox was an All-SEC pick all three seasons he played with the Kentucky Wildcats. He saw one year of playing time in the NBA with the Chicago Zephyrs before he moved back home to Hazard, Kentucky.
Unlike many Kentucky players, there isn’t much on the internet about Johnny Cox, he’s kept a remotely low profile since his Kentucky days.
A random tidbit of neat information about Johnny Cox is during his senior season, he joined Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Bob Boozer and Bailey Howell on the AP’s All-America first team. Again, not too bad of a group to be along with.
