Looking at the picture, you might be like “what?” but then you should realize that Makayla Epps is the daughter of former Kentucky Wildcat star, Anthony Epps.

Epps was the leader of the 1996 National Championship team as starting point guard. Epps tallied up 544 total assists in his career, just shy of the record held by Dirk Minniefield, so he is currently second on the all-time assist list at the University of Kentucky.

Not only was he strong with the assists, he was only a mere 119 points away from the 1000 point club with 881 total career points. Epps say 2807 minutes in 141 games in a Kentucky Wildcats uniform.

Unlike many Wildcats, Epps didn’t have any career in the NBA.

Epps was head coach at his former high school, Marion County, in Kentucky for the girls team, which produced current Kentucky Women’s Basketball standout Makayla Epps, up until July 2015. Epps resigned from the instructional assistant position as well as girls basketball coach to take a special education job opportunity in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

More often than not, you can see Epps on the sideline of many Kentucky Women’s Basketball games cheering on his daughter, Makayla.
