39. Roger Harden
Roger Harden probably isn’t your everyday household name when you’re talking about the Kentucky Wildcats, but boy was he something to watch.
Harden, a Wildcat from 1982-1986 never scored more than 6.8 points per game, making himself quite the passer from the point guard stance. He ended his career with a high 498 career assists, one of the highest to ever come out of the University of Kentucky, behind only Tony Delk and Dirk Minniefield.
During his senior season, Harden recorded a single-season assist record of 232 assists.
Harden was drafted in the fifth round of the 1986 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Harden never saw any playing time for the Lakers and that’s where his NBA career came to an end.
After his tenure in the NBA, Harden became an assistant coach under the Kentucky Wildcats head coach, Eddie Sutton for one season.
After his tenure as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Harden went back home to Indiana and proceeded to coach kids up until 2012.
Harden was named head coach of Williamstown Junior/Senior High School in Grant County, Kentucky in 2012, where he still is today.
