23. Duke Blue Devils vs Kentucky Wildcats

(15-16)

I was nervous. You were nervous. Everyone was nervous. This was the first real test for the 2015-16 Kentucky Wildcats and they surely didn’t let us down.

In the 74-63 rout of the Blue Devils, this looked like a team that had it all figured out. They knew how to stop another talented, young team. The Wildcats never seemed to lose momentum, everything was going their way. They absolutely shut down the Blue Devils Grayson Allen, however Miles Plumlee did try his hardest to keep the team on his back and push them to a win. The Wildcats had other plans.

While this was a huge win for the 2015-16 Wildcats, they have had two wake up calls now. This team still has a lot to learn before they’re considered great. Many people are down on the team, thinking the future is bland, seeing an early exit in the NCAA Tournament, if they even make it. I’m not kidding, us Kentucky fans are crazy. However, we must remember how they pulled out this win over the Blue Devils, remember they’re a young team and remember that we were absolutely spoiled by the team last season.

I had to include this game just so I could remind you not to give up on this season. It’s not over, not even close. Camp Cal is coming up after the Louisville game on Saturday. He’ll get this team figured out. I can almost promise you that.
