16. LSU Tigers vs Kentucky Wildcats

(14-15)

The LSU Tigers were another team that felt they had the ability to put an end to the Kentucky Wildcats undefeated season.

And boy did they give the Wildcats a run for their money in Baton Rouge.

Calipari even told his team that he hoped the lost this game, he was more than frustrated with how the team was playing and wanted them to have a game with their backs against the wall, having to show some sort of fight.

Soft-spoken and a very proper Karl-Anthony Towns drew a technical foul for hanging on the rim, which I still believe was a bologna call. It was very unlike Towns to ever get a foul like that called on him, and he wasn’t on the rim all that long.

However, he was able to redeem himself by hitting the go-ahead hook shot with less than two minutes to play in the game, followed by a vital offensive rebound to keep the Wildcats undefeated, beating the Tigers 71-69. However, had the last second LSU shot went in, we’d be singing a different song.

However, the 21 to 2 LSU run that gave the Tigers a 66 to 60 lead, was a major concern. Being a huge team and with the plethora of talent, there was absolutely no reason why any team in the country can go on a 21-2 run against the Wildcats. It was something to focus on for the remainder of the season.
