Counting down the top 30 Kentucky basketball games of the John Calipari era.
John Calipari has won 199 games since arriving at the University of Kentucky. Today, we are going to direct each of those wins and come up with a Top 30 games. Like many other rankings in regards to Kentucky Basketball, not everyone is going to agree, I’m surely going to leave games off this list that others believe should be on there.
It’s hard to pick through 199 games to pick out the Top 30. However, as you’ll see, the 2014-15 Wildcats team made this daunting task just a wee bit easier.
Heck, if it wasn’t for a few last second shots, big plays and meaningful games, I could’ve based the Top 30 solely on wins in the 2014-15 season. However, as you’ll see, Aaron Harrison, Anthony Davis, Brandon Knight and Demarcus Cousins have crazy plays that couldn’t be left out of this Top 30.
I’ve included one loss into this Top 30, which many may not agree with, however, if you give it a chance and really look at what that loss did for that team, you might understand why that loss was a vital part of that team. It defines more than other losses, it defined who John Calipari is as a coach, opening peoples eyes to the idea that this team wasn’t dead and Calipari had worked his magic.
That being said, let’s take a look at the Top 30 games in the John Calipari Era at the University of Kentucky.
