#4 Aaron Harrison (2014-15)
This was another hard decision. But, I think that Aaron Harrison is the #4 shooting guard in the Calipari Era at the University of Kentucky. I’m sure at different parts of his two seasons in Lexington, he would’ve been higher and at other parts he would’ve been lower, but I think four is a steady spot for him.
It’s had to be rough for Harrison as he watched his six other teammates get drafted, including his twin brother Andrew, but failed to hear his name called in the 2015 NBA Draft. While many poked fun at the shooting guard, others are seeing this as a blessing in disguise. I immensely believe that teams are going to regret passing on him once he gets a chance to show who he is as an NBA player.
In his two seasons at Kentucky, he played a vital role at helping the Wildcats reach consecutive Final Fours. The first one, he had to make three unbelievable last second shots in the three games before the championship game. He didn’t hesitate and he drained them each time. The excitement that caused throughout the Bluegrass and throughout Big Blue Nation afar could be heard from miles away. At many points of all three of those games, it looked as if they were done, but Aaron Harrison swooped in and saved the day.
He was also a vital part of the 38-1 season the Wildcats just had, although many consider it a pointless season, it was a season of a lifetime for fans. Big Blue Nation will always have a special place in their heart for Aaron Harrison, the kid from Richmond, Texas.
While he faced unfair criticism from so many, he is one of the best players to put on the Kentucky uniform. Personality and effort wise, I’d choose him over a lot others. Aaron Harrison deserves more credit than he gets, thats a fact.
