Inside The Numbers: Kentucky Wildcats vs. Louisville Cardinals Since 1983
By Corey Price
It has been 273 days since the Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals last squared off on the hardwood. For some fans, that’s too long of a wait for those two programs to face off. But, if that’s too long of a wait, they wouldn’t have been able to handle the hiatus in the series between the two schools from 1959 to 1983. Their meeting in the NCAA Tournament Mideast Regional Finals on March 26th, 1983 sparked a reemergence in the series. Since then, there have been many great players, teams, and games between the two schools. To recap the last 31 years of the heated rivalry between the Wildcats and Cardinals, I have compiled an extensive and thorough list of records, facts, etc. concerning their series. Enjoy reading it, especially leading up to their annual showdown tomorrow afternoon.
