BRANDON KNIGHT
MILWAUKEE BUCKS

As of now, Brandon Knight should have a firm grip on the Bucks starting PG job. There is always buzz that the Bucks need a “true PG”, but Jason Kidd has stated that is not the case and that Knight is one of his best players. So regardless, Knight will get plenty of minutes even though he may share the PG spot with Kendall Marshall. Knight could play the two guard more as well, but he is a player on the rise. After two years in Detroit, Knight moved to Milwaukee last year and improved his scoring from 13.3 to 17.9 and assists from 4.0 to 4.9. It is a mystery that Knight shoots so poorly as he had a “career high” shooting percentage of 42.2% last year. Look for Knight to improve his shooting and hopefully to improve his status as a mid tier PG in the league.

JODIE MEEKS
DETROIT PISTONS

Perhaps no player enhanced their position in the league more than Meeks last year. Pressed into a starting role duie to injuries, Meeks produced a career best 15.7 points per game average and he signed a three year, $19.5M deal with the Pistons. Meeks established himself as a solid three point threat and hit 40.1% of his three pointers. At age 27, Meeks was coming into his own as a pro after six seasons and looked to make an impact with his fourth team. However, that will have to wait. Meeks will be out at least two months due to a stress reaction in his back. Hopefully he can rebound and be back on the court around Christmas, if not a bit sooner.

DARIUS MILLER
NEW ORLEANS PELICANS

Very few people had Darius Miller sticking around in the league for three seasons, but his versatility is the key to his doing so. Due to injuries, he was even pressed into service at the PG spot last year and he started 7 games for the Pelicans. Miller actually almost doubled his rookie scoring with 4.4 points a game and improved his shooting to 44.0%. And for now, it looks like the Pelicans are the one team that both UK and UL fans can root for with Davis, Miller, and Russ Smith on the 15 man roster.

NAZR MOHAMMED
CHICAGO BULLS

Say hello to the graybeard of the former Kentucky Wildcats in the NBA as Nazr enters his 17th season in the league. Nazr is the ultimate journeyman as he is closing in on 1000 games played and has switched teams 12 times. He enters his third season as Joaquim Noah’s backup and he did play in 80 games last year. For the season, he averaged 1.6 points and 2.2 rebounds. It’s good to see the old man still ticking along.
