The first conference win since the 2011 season and the WildKemp (otherwise known as the Wildcat) took full effect- positives. The negatives? If the Cats play sloppy like that against any other conference opponent it probably won’t work out as well for them. Towles was 23-30 with 201 yards and a touchdown but he also threw an INT right into a Vandy defender’s hands that was returned for 6. Towles also had 3 net yards rushing, but punched one in for a TD. Kentucky had 183 yards on the ground but they also had two fumbles. The “bad boys” on defense had a good day keeping Vandy to just 139 yards of total offense, three interceptions and with 12 chances, Vanderbilt only converted twice. 3-1 is the best UK has started out in awhile, but next week is a HUGE test for UK as Spurrier probably isn’t too keen on losing two conference road games in a row.
