This is about Cliff Hawkins, but first congrats to John Calipari on inking his new deal to remain at Kentucky for a while.
Young Kentucky fans hear the name Hawkins and automatically think Dominique, the reserve sophomore who is on Kentucky’s roster now.
Flashback a few years and Cliff provided a nice little memory against the rival Louisville Cardinals.
The crossover dribble and subsequent broken ankles are as common as lay-ups now, simply part of the game. An exciting part of the game for sure. Tim Hardaway helped make this happen over two decades ago.
Allen Iverson took it to another level.
Cliff Hawkins timing couldn’t have been better. Rupp Arena was rocking as the Cats were handling the Cards. Cliff just made it all the more delightful with his great crossover.
