Kentucky Wildcats: Top 15 BBN Twitter Follows
TOP 15 BIG BLUE NATION SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWS
15. Jared Lorenzen (@JaredLorenzen22)
He gives insight to playing quarterback at UK, he’s got jokes, and who wouldn’t want to follow a guy nicknamed “Hefty Lefty”? His NCAA unlimited food comments= priceless
14. Trey Lyles (@TreyMambaLyles)
First of all- this future Wildcat decommitted from IU, then punked out Louisville before committing to UK. He’s also responsible for this Julius Randle-inspired/foreshadowing championship tweet:
13. Anthony Davis (@AntDavis23)
He really should get a title just because of the 2012 season plus he’s killing it in the NBA and the fact that he has both a gold medal and a unibrow- but in case that isn’t enough, sometimes you get pictures like this:
11./12. Harrison Twins (@DrewRoc5 & @AaronICE2) Always a package deal, these guys gave Twitter a break during the season, but after giving us some Tweets to speculate over before their decision, they confirmed their return via Twitter.
10. Craig Naivar (@Coach_Naivar) UK football’s new special team’s coach is one of the most energetic guys I have ever met. He is the source of my all-time favorite quote I have ever received in football interviews: “I wake up every morning in a 3-point stance ready to rock and roll.” (me too, Coach). In addition, his constant use of #getsome on Twitter never fails to make me laugh. He has also had a great compliation of Twitter bios. Seems like a rowdy guy and I am a fan. He only has 2,200 followers right now so let’s give coach a boost, I mean #whynot?
9. Willie Cauley-Stein (@THEwillieCS15)
He doesn’t Tweet much during the season, but off season he’s a pretty entertaining tweeter if I do say so myself- especially for those who share his love of sneakers. He also announced he was staying for his junior season via Twitter so you wouldn’t want to miss that. Or Vine’s like this:
8. Larry Vaught (@VaughtsViews)
Danville Advocate sports editor, Larry covers all of UK athletics for the papers and does a great job at covering lesser-known stories.
7. Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_CJ) Tucker covers UK athletics for the Louisville Courier-Journal and is great at his job- especially with football and men’s basketball coverage. Always has a live link to press conferences and quick with transcripts and stories as well as entertaining Tweets.
6. Jojo Kemp (@J_Kemp3)
Constantly entertaining in football interviews, his Twitter game is pretty good too. Kemp loves to interact with fans and is a pretty funny guy.
5. Drew Barker (D_Barker7) Barker used social media to attract and interact with a good portion of his recruiting class and still uses to interact with fans and Tweet about the #BBN.
4. Kentucky Specialists (@UK_Specialists)
The UK football specialists came together to form this Twitter handle and the result? Twitter gold. They don’t tweet a lot, but when they do you’re sure to get a laugh. Documenting their adventures and antics one twit pic at a time, this account is hilarious.
3. Oscar Combs (@wildcatnews) Mr. Combs is founder of The Cats’ Pause and co-hosts the UK Big Blue Radio pre-game show. He always offers interesting insight to UK athletics- especially basketball and tweets out articles frequently.
2. Coach Cal (@UKCoachCalipari)
In need of an inspirational speech? Fear not, Cal’s infamous Twitter rants and long Facebook posts will have you ready to throw on some gym shorts and shoot jumpers at 6:00 a.m., attend a book club meeting after, all the while preparing to beat Louisville, Tennessee and any other team we play on any given week.
1. Doron Lamb(@DLamb20) Without question Lamb’s tweets are some of UK fan’s favorites. Not because he says anything particularly insightful or even UK related half the time, but they’re just hilarious. He’s great for late night tweets, because he’s #teamnosleep and he always lets us know what D. Lamb is eating…and I mean look…it’s lamb butter.
Keep up the Twitter game, #BBN…you people are crazy. If those aren’t enough to fill your Big Blue social media appetite, follow @wildcatbluenation and myself (@lyndseygough) on Twitter as well and let us know if you have any more you would add to the list. #WeAreUK
