This years version of the Kentucky Wildcats football team will feature more four star players than any Kentucky team ever. However, I am not one to get wrapped up in the football rankings as it is a totally different animal from basketball star rankings. There are plenty of three star players out of high school (or lower) that are legitimate stars in the SEC. UK’s Bud Dupree makes the list of the ten best “three-star stars” in the SEC this year.
"Alvin “Bud” Dupree, DE, Kentucky, Sr.: With 16 career sacks, Dupree is one of the most accomplished pass-rushers returning in the SEC. Coming out of Irwinton, Ga., as a high school senior, he was ranked as the No. 48 tight end nationally and picked Kentucky over Georgia Tech. He wasn’t offered by Georgia."

To date, everyone has been focused on the QB battle for Kentucky, but the RB battle will be a doozy as well. JoJo Kemp, Josh Clemons, Braylon Heard, and Mikel Horton all will have a chance to battle for the starting RB job and the big question is whether one of these guys will emerge as the defacto leader. Of course, the talent is there for a running back by committee approach as well.
"I think running back, you can be by committee. Now, we’d like a guy to jump up and just be the guy and be able to do everything. But I think you can kind form that running back position around what people do the best. But I know coach (Chad) Scott wants a guy to emerge, and I’d like for that too, but you can — it’s not a negative if we do it by committee,” offensive coordinator Neal Brown said Monday. What does he like best about the running backs currently? “They’re catching the ball really well. They’re actually catching the ball better than our receivers, which I’m not sure is a good thing but they are,” Brown said. “They are doing a nice job. We do a deal where we do a catch percentage, and we want everybody — everybody should have a 90 percent or higher catch percentage. All the running backs do. They’ve had very few drops. We’re doing some things this spring to get them more involved in the pass game because all those guys that are playing can do that. So, I’m pleased with those."
