Now that the 2014 football class is signed, sealed, and delivered, the focus turns to the 2014 season and how the Wildcats will perform. ESPN recently put the focus on Drew Barker and what he can bring to UK this year.

"It’s never fair to expect a true freshman to come in at quarterback and save the day in the SEC, and nobody at Kentucky is expecting that from Barker. But he will get every chance to win the job, especially since he’s an early enrollee and will go through spring practice. The Wildcats scored an SEC-low 118 points in their eight league games last season and need to find more pop, period, on offense. Barker has a big-time arm, and everybody who recruited him fell in love with his work ethic and leadership skills. You can bet that his older teammates will be watching closely this offseason to see how he handles everything and the manner in which he competes. Junior Jalen Whitlow isn’t just going to hand over the starting job and has the edge in experience. With Maxwell Smith recovering from shoulder surgery, it’s likely a two-man race between Barker and Whitlow. Kentucky coach Mark Stoops has been careful not to put too much pressure on Barker. After all, it doesn’t matter who lines up next season at quarterback for the Wildcats if they don’t play better around him, which includes protecting the passer with more consistency and making more big plays. Still, it’s clear that Stoops and the Kentucky offensive coaches think they have a gem in Barker, and the future is now for him."

Ohio TE CJ Conrad was just one of the prospects from Ohio that visited UK over the weekend and he tweeted out the pic of him in a UK jersey and say that UK was his leader.  UK hosted four big Ohio recruits this weekend and Ben Roberts has a rundown on the visitors.

"Rivals.com ranks Conrad as the No. 6 tight end in the country for the Class of 2015. He’s also ranked as the No. 174 overall prospect in the class and the No. 8 player from Ohio. Conrad has publicly said that UK and Indiana are his two favorites. He has already visited Bloomington twice, and this will be his first trip to Lexington. Conner is ranked by Rivals as the No. 8 inside linebacker and No. 241 overall prospect in the Class of 2015. He has nearly a dozen scholarship offers and considerable interest from Ohio State. UK is thought to be among the favorites for the Dublin, Ohio, native. Stepniak — a 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive guard from Hamilton, Ohio — received a scholarship offer from Kentucky on Friday and is also expected in town this weekend. The three-star prospect also has reported offers from Penn State, Miami, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati, among others. Rivals ranks him as the No. 35 prospect from Ohio for 2015. Myers is already well familiar with UK. The 6-foot-5 prospect from the Class of 2017 is the brother of current UK offensive lineman Zach Myers and the son of former UK offensive lineman Brad Myers. The youngest Myers is considered one of the best lineman in the 2017 class and already has several scholarship offers, including a recent one from Michigan. UK extended an offer earlier this month."
