The Battle of the Bluegrass has returned for another year. This will be the 46th meeting between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals, but the rivalry intensified on March 26th, 1983 when the two schools squared off in the Mideast Regional Finals of the NCAA Tournament. That was the first game between the two schools in 24 years. Since that March night, the schools have played each other every season and today will be the 34th meeting since the restart of the series between the intrastate foes.
