In his absence, it will up to former Kentucky Wildcats point guard Marquis Teague to fill-in for the perennial All-Star. The Bulls were still mulling over whether or not they should extend the 2012 first-round pick this summer, but eventually picked-up his third-year option. That turned out to be a very smart move, as a second major knee injury will have the career of Rose in question going forward, and Teague could become a significant player for the Bulls now.
Teague saw action in 48 games last season and averaged 2.1 ppg, 1.3 apg and 0.9 rpg in 8.2 mpg. He also appeared in eight playoffs games for Chicago last year. This year, he;s improved his averages much (2.2 ppg and .8 apg), but his numbers will improve significantly as his playing time does.
