Could the dominoes be starting to fall for John Calipari and his 2014 class? With Tyler Ulis in the fold, it appears now that Devin Booker could be the next to don the blue and white soon. USA Today’s analyst Jason Jordan thinks that Kentucky, not Michigan may now lead for Devin Booker.  Kentucky is also being helped by Tyler Ulis, who is actively recruiting Booker as well.

"“Devin, I am starting to kind of believe that Kentucky (might get him),” Jordan said on the show.   “They brought the full deck (to watch him workout Wednesday), Devin told me they brought the full deck last night. That’s telling. “I would probably cosign (that he may be headed to Kentucky). But, stuff changes hour to hour, so I’ll probably say something different next week.” According to Jordan on Twitter, Kentucky brought its entire coaching staff to watch Booker during an open gym at his high school in Moss Point, Miss. Beilein and assistant Bacari Alexander were also in the gym Thursday to check up on Booker, a Grand Rapids native. A 6-foot-6 shooting guard, rated as a five-star talent by Scout.com, Booker was the first player in the 2014 class to receive a formal offer from Beilein last summer. He’s already made official visits to Michigan State and Kentucky. He’ll make an official visit to Michigan on Oct. 5. Though it won’t be his first trip to Ann Arbor — Booker said in the summer he’s already made seven unofficial visits to Michigan, as the Wolverines have been recruiting him since he was an eighth grader. Another thing potentially working against Michigan here is four-star point guard Tyler Ulis. Ulis recently pledged to Kentucky, and both he and Booker have recently expressed a strong interest in playing together in college."

And in case you were wondering, it appears that James Blackmon Jr and Devin Booker can co-exist at the same school, despite playing the same position. Calipari recently paid Blackmon a visit and Blackmon will visit at Big Blue Madness. There is a buzz that Calipari told Blackmon that he could also play PG behind Tyler Ulis in 2014 as well. That seems to be appealing to Blackmon, who also likes the fact that Calipari sends players to the NBA. Blackmon and Trey Lyles also have talked about playing ball together in college and Lyles is considered a Kentucky lean. Here is a bit more about what Blackmon is looking for in a school.

"“I probably won’t take all five official visits because I’ll probably decide before that happens,” he said. “I’m looking for a coach that I can really trust and a team that has a chance to compete for a national championship and has good players to play around. A coach who will help me get to the next level.”"

It seems as if it is taking forever, but the work on the new and renovated Rupp Arena is still trudging along. On Wednesday night, there was a public hearing and the architects for NBBJ offered some details to the public about their plans.

"Architects for NBBJ, lead architects of the downtown project, said final designs will not be completed for several months but gave the more than 130 people who attended the event at the Kentucky Theatre an overview of key design elements of Rupp Arena and a new Town Branch Park, which would be located behind Rupp Arena. Those ideas include de-coupling Rupp Arena from the Lexington Center so people can actually see the storied University of Kentucky basketball arena. The footprint for the building would be expanded to include more amenities such as restaurants and retail. The convention center would be moved to the Cox Street side of the complex and would also be expanded to include an additional 100,000 square feet of more user-friendly convention space. Jonathan Ward, an architect for NBBJ, identified one of the biggest problems with Rupp Arena: You can’t find it. “You can only see it from High Street,” Ward said. “It’s hidden by the convention center.” By moving parts of the convention center to the Cox Street side, Rupp can be seen and experienced by everyone, Ward said. Using glass on parts of the exterior will also let the public see what’s going on inside Rupp Arena. “You can feel like you’re part of the experience,” Ward said."
