Yes, we know that the Harrisons said they were going to UK for four years. So we really don’t need to worry about a Tyus Jones or Emmanuel Mudiay for next season … Right? Well, assuming that the Harrisons do NOT stay all four years, UK will need a PG in the 2014 class. Right now, Tyler Ulus seems to be a Kentucky lean, and he could stay at college for all four years. No, really.
"DeCourcy: Kentucky still has two very strong point guard prospects in its sights who can take over if Andrew Harrison, as expected, enters the 2014 NBA draft: Tyus Jones of Apple Valley, Minn. (ranked No. 2 by Sporting News) and 5-8 Tyler Ulis of Chicago Heights (ranked No. 23). Although their rankings are not that disparate, the two players represent two very different prospects whose futures will be anything but identical. Jones is a talent capable of moving through college basketball in a single season, if that is his desire. He has the size, athletic ability and high degree of skill necessary to manage such a jump. If he handles his next few years properly, he has the ability to be a high-level NBA starter. Ulis, because of his size, is almost certain to play four seasons in college. As gifted as he is—and we’ve called him a “basketball genius” because of his understanding of the game’s angles and nuances—he will need all the physical maturity he can gain in order to navigate an eventual move to the league."

Turns out that Tom Crean’s loss could be John Calipari’s gain. Seems that both former IU commits, James Blackmon and Trey Lyles will be visiting Lexington for Big Blue Madness on October 18th.
"Lyles — a 6-foot-9 forward from Indianapolis — was already a confirmed visitor for Madness, but he had not said whether that trip would be an official visit until Thursday night. He also announced official visits to Louisville for this weekend and Florida for Oct. 5. Blackmon — a 6-2 shooting guard from Marion, Ind. — was on UK’s campus for an unofficial visit Thursday. His father told the Herald-Leader on Thursday night that they would return for an official visit Oct. 18. Blackmon’s father is James Blackmon, a former UK player. The Blackmon family will be at U of L on Friday and Michigan on Saturday for unofficial visits. Both Lyles and Blackmon committed to Indiana early in their careers before later opening their recruitments. ESPN considers Lyles to be the No. 4 overall prospect in the Class of 2014, while Blackmon is ranked No. 25."

But apparently Rick Pitino’s loss will not be John Calipari’s gain. Ballard PG and former UL commit Quentin Snider has cut his list to seven teams. There was speculation that Kentucky may offer Snider or show interest but that has not happened yet. It should be noted that Tom Crean was interested in Snider and was shut out as well. Hey, got to like a kid that says “Nyet” to both Pitino and Crean, right?
"The Class of 2014 prospect is now considering Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, UCLA, UConn and Southern Cal, according to his father. Snider decommitted from Louisville last month. Missing from Snider’s list are U of L and Kentucky — two schools that didn’t contact him after his decommitment — and Indiana. The Hoosiers had been in steady contact and invited Snider to take an unofficial visit to Bloomington last week, but they did not make the cut."
