Really, what is there to loathe about Western Kentucky? With that for a mascot?
There really is not a lot to truly dislike or hate about WKU … if you are a Kentucky fan. I have rooted for Western in the past and will continue to do so. And unlike UL, I don’t consider them a little brother or anything like that. Just a state school that I have no real ill will towards and root fo except when they play UK.
If there is a reason to loathe Western, it is this:
ANDREW JACKSON
Yes. Andrew Jackson and the “They supposed to be SEC” line. In reality, that line stings more because of how accurate it was and the fact we all had our Big Blue Blinders on now. Fact is, I would LOVE Andrew Jackson if he were a Cat but the4 fact is … I really want UK to shut his yap this week.
BOBBY PETRINO
Yes. I dislike Bobby Petrino because they guy is kind of a sleazeball. From walking away on teams to other infidelities, Petrino is a good example of everything there is to dislike about college coaches. And the fact is that the only job he could get is with Western Kentucky. It’s a great hire for the Hilltoppers but don’t expect him to stay more than a few years. And leave the cupboard bare like he did at Arkansas.
And make no secret, Petrino loathes Kentucky. And we can not let this guy win either.
LOUISVILLE FANS
What? Yes. It is happening. Louisville fans subscribe to the “my second favorite team is whoever plays Kentucky” mentality, so 85% of the UL fanbase (not that its a huge number) will be watching this game, tweeting about it, and rooting like hell for the Hilltoppers. It’s no fault of the Hilltoppers. They are just going to be part of Little Brother’s obsession with UK this week. And for that reason, we can not lose this game.
LOATHING SCORE: 5 out of 10
The Hilltoppers get a lower loathing score because there is really no reason to hate them after this game. Even with Petrino at the helm, I want to see them do well. I think the Fear Factor is going to be the largest one here, specifically as UK fans don’t want another loss to Western.
