With James Blackmon entering the mix, this gets interesting as SG Devin Booker released his top five teams and Kentucky made the cut.

"The Class of 2014 prospect from Moss Point, Miss., is considering Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri and Florida. Booker lived in Michigan before moving to Mississippi and has already taken several unofficial visits to both Michigan and Michigan State. His father, Melvin Booker, was a standout player at Missouri in the early 1990s. Duke, North Carolina and Mississippi State are among the other schools that had previously been mentioned in connection with the 6-foot-4 prospect. Earlier Monday, Scout.com reported that Booker has set official visits for UK, Michigan, Michigan State and Missouri. He said he wasn’t sure if he’d take an official visit to Florida."

Booker will visit UK for Big Blue Madness and has stated several times that he will probably commit to a school in November.

2014 SF Kelly Oubre is another player that may be taking a visit to the rapidly-getting-crowded Big Blue Madness on October 18.

"Before the big game, Oubre talked recruiting with SNY.tv and said he plans to visit Kansas Oct. 4 for “Late Night in the Phog” and could possibly visit Kentucky Oct. 18 for “Big Blue Madness.” “Kansas visit, me and my dad were talking closely about Kentucky shortly after because everybody’s Midnight Madnesses are kind of close, so those visits are probably going to be back-to-back-to-back when we really sit down and talk about them,” he said. Still, Oubre reiterated that he hasn’t nailed down the Kentucky visit. Stanley Johnson and Emmanuel Mudiay are among those who will visit UK Oct. 18. Oubre, who had a breakout summer with Houston Hoops, is down to eight schools: Kansas, Florida, Kentucky, Georgetown, Louisville, Oregon, UConn and UNLV."

The storyline of last years preseason for basketball was “Will the Wildcats repeat?”. This year, it is drastically different as the big question is “Who will lead this team”?

"1. WHO WILL LEAD KENTUCKY? It’s going to be one of the major questions surrounding this team, and it will be one of the keys to the Wildcats potentially winning their second national title in three seasons. Two years ago, Kentucky had three veterans — Doron Lamb, Darius Miller, and Terrence Jones that all had played the season before in the Final Four, and were able to bring a certain level of experience to the table each time they took the floor. This years veterans — Alex Poythress and Willie Cauley-Stein didn’t play in the NCAA Tournament last season and were beaten by Robert Morris in the NIT. There’s no questioning this team’s talent and upside. John Calipari has assembled arguably the greatest recruiting class in the history of college basketball, and Poythress and Cauley-Stein are both likely first-round picks in the 2014 NBA Draft. But for the Wildcats to get back to the Final Four and win another national championship, someone other than Calipari has to lead this team each time Kentucky steps in between the lines."
